Creative Audio Log: Why I Started This New Series

Creative Audio Log: Why I Started This New Series

Social media has never really been my strong suit.

I’ve always struggled to stay consistent — keeping up with the trends, chasing the algorithm, worrying if something would go viral or completely flop. I know it can be a great tool for connection and sharing, especially as an artist… but more often than not, I was spending more time trying to get noticed than actually creating.

I realized I was letting the pressure of social media get in the way of what I love most — the process.

That’s when the idea for Creative Audio Log came to me.
A weekly check-in. Just me, talking to the camera for 30 to 60 seconds about where I’m at creatively. No filters. No fancy edits. No “trying to go viral.”

Just thoughts. Insights. Wins. Frustrations. Curiosities. Inspiration.

This is a series for me — and maybe for you, too.

I created it as a way to log my creative journey in real time. It’s like a voice memo to myself — a digital field note I can look back on later to see how I’ve grown, what I’ve learned, and where I’ve been.

More importantly, it helps me step away from the pressure of performing online.
I don’t always want to worry about whether my head or hand is covering the lens while I’m working. I want to be present — truly present — in my creative space. I want to disconnect from technology more often and spend that time actually making, playing, and evolving as an artist. My process, my knowledge, and my style will evolve naturally when I stop obsessing over what it’s supposed to look like — and just let it be what it is.

Art as a form of exploration

This series is part of a bigger shift in how I want to approach both art and social media.

I don’t want to tell people how to create, or claim to have the “right way” to do something. I want to show what works for me — and invite others to experiment with what works for them. I’m self-taught in most art mediums, and I’ve learned everything through trying, failing, learning, and trying again.

That’s what this is: an open-ended experiment. A creative time capsule. A space for honesty, curiosity, and gentle growth.

What to expect moving forward

Alongside this Creative Audio Log series on Instagram, I’ll also be using this blog space for more personal posts like this one — the kind that document what I’m working on, what I’m learning, and what’s shifting inside me creatively. Less “how-to” and more “here’s what I’m discovering.”

I’m looking at my creative life the way a scientist might observe and record their findings.
You never know what kind of beauty or breakthrough you’ll uncover when you start collecting field notes.

A Note to Fellow Creators

If you’ve ever felt the pressure to make perfect things, or to keep up with everyone else’s pace — I see you. This Creative Audio Log is my way of slowing down and returning to what matters: making something that feels honest. Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s quiet. Even if no one sees it but me. I’m learning to let my creative process be enough — without needing it to prove anything.
And if any part of this journey resonates with you, I hope it gives you permission to do the same. We don’t need to wait for the right time, the right tools, or the right audience.
We just need to begin. Wherever we are. However it looks.

Because sometimes, the most meaningful work happens when no one’s watching.

Thanks for being here. Thanks for creating.
